Experience & Background:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams: 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical background: e.g., former senior developer, architect, similar.
- Solid experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (SCRUM, Kanban, LeSS, SAFe, or similar): Proven ability to lead and adapt various Agile approaches to optimize engineering team performance, delivery predictability, and responsiveness to change.
- Experience with enterprise-grade projects: Demonstrated success in leading engineering efforts for large-scale, complex software projects within an enterprise environment.
- Experience working with Clients directly, ideally based in North America and/or Europe: Direct collaboration with external clients to understand their technical needs and deliver solutions that meet their business objectives.
Technical Competencies:
- Deep Technical Acumen: Strong background in software development, architecture, and system design, with the ability to dive into technical details when necessary.
- Architectural Understanding: Ability to understand, contribute to, and guide the evolution of complex system architectures.
- Strong experience in risk management: Proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical and project risks to ensure stable and timely deliveries.
- Knowledge and experience with modern engineering practices: DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, etc., and their application in project delivery.
Leadership & People Management Skills:
- Excellent in stakeholder management and conflict resolution: Superior capability in engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders, adeptly managing expectations, and resolving technical or interpersonal conflicts constructively within and outside the team.
- Coaching and Mentoring Abilities: Proven ability to foster the growth of individual engineers, providing guidance on technical skills, career paths, and professional development.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to align engineering initiatives with broader business goals, anticipating future technical needs and opportunities.
- Product mindset: A strong focus on understanding user needs and delivering technical solutions that directly contribute to product value and business success.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to navigate dynamic environments, adapt to changing priorities, and guide the team through uncertainty while maintaining focus on delivery.

Team Leadership & People Management
- Realign project expectations and structure to ensure project success and client satisfaction, ensuring it is delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of talented engineers and other team members, fostering their growth and performance.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
Technical Vision & Execution:
- Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of the roadmap plan across multiple teams.
- Help unblock teams and remove technical or organizational obstacles.
- Protect the goals and timelines of the roadmap/iterations/sprints, demonstrating firmness while also exhibiting a degree of flexibility when business needs necessitate it.
Process Optimization & Operational Excellence:
- Conduct analyses and audits where necessary to identify and address challenges in the SDLC and overall business and tech collaboration.
- Implement effective Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, LeSS, SAFe), ensuring efficient workflows and predictable delivery.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Business to define technical feasibility, estimate efforts, and contribute to the product roadmap from an engineering perspective.
Cross-functional Collaboration, Stakeholder Management & Reporting:
- Act as the point of contact for all project-related activities, including expectation management, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Provide regular updates to the CPO/CTO roles and internal company senior management and other stakeholders on project progress, issues, risks, quality, velocity, and efficiency.
- Track and report on KPIs, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
Risk & Resource Management
- Proactively identify risks and take steps to mitigate them.
- Ensure proper resource allocation, including planning and forecasting to meet deadlines.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and quality.
